Keeping Projects Moving During a Pandemic

Facing Challenges Brought on by COVID-19
The pandemic has created many challenges for companies across the globe. For Cubbison, two particular areas have brought a few hurdles to the forefront of our industry: supply chain issues and labor shortages.
Supply chain issues have not only made it difficult for companies to get their hands on the materials and products they need to complete a job, but it has also caused frequent price increases for certain materials, like stainless steel.
The Great Resignation and shortage of employees in the workforce have not aided the former challenge either. Many industries are dealing with losing more workers than they are onboarding – affecting employees in the office and on the production floor.
These challenges, in tandem, have contributed to overall issues that have slowed, or even halted, the fulfillment journey. However, Cubbison is determined to fight these challenges head-on and continue to offer alternative ways customers can keep projects moving.
How Cubbison Has Kept Projects Moving
Ignorance of issues is something that doesn't belong in a business. At Cubbison, we understand that the first thing a company can do to fight challenges is to recognize them.
Fighting the Supply Chain
While we can't control the supply chain, we have made necessary adjustments to rival the unpredictability of product and material shortages.
One of the ways we've been able to keep up with pre-pandemic inventory levels is due to the value we put into creating relationships with our vendors. We don't just sign on the dotted line and accept a delivery. We get to know the people that put in the work to get us the materials we need. Forming long-term relationships with those we do business with provides a win-win scenario for everyone involved during times like these.
For example, at Cubbison we've been fulfilling more orders than ever before – and we can do so because we've made sure we have enough material to last us for the year. Our commitment to our partners in this effort provides them with a guaranteed customer while ensuring that we have what we need to get the job done.
By doing this, we've set ourselves up with the resources we need to make sure our customers stay satisfied.
Keeping People at Cubbison
Like many other companies, we've felt the sting of The Great Resignation. Since the pandemic, we've had to say goodbye to a few valued team members – some deciding to move in a different direction in their career, and others who opted for retirement.
On the flip side, we've been able to keep many of our team members by providing them with the flexibility and benefits they deserve. Undoubtedly, the pandemic has changed the way we work, and while our production gurus can't work from home, we've continued to provide the support and resources our office team needs to be successful in a remote setting.
In addition to creating a flexible work environment, we've reassessed our pay and benefits programs to reflect competitive standards in our market.
Keeping Things Moving as a Customer
We're doing our best to keep things moving promptly and according to specifications.
Setting realistic expectations regarding price and lead time is one of the most beneficial contributions a customer can make to help move the process along. Making guarantees about these two components has become much more complex in today's market as things are constantly changing. We work with open communication and flexibility, and we implore that our customers do so as well.
At Cubbison, we will continue to do our very best to support our customers and provide them with the products and solutions they deserve. If you're interested in learning more, make sure to contact us today!
