Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training provides employees with tools and techniques to reduce waste and improve processes by creating consistency and efficiency. Six of our employees received the training in-house led by Master Blackbelt instructor, Jim Odom, who is also a Certified Quality Engineer and Auditor. Training was held once a week for four hours for roughly eight weeks. The employees who received the training and certification are as follows:
Heather Haywood, Purchasing Manager
Jeff Huffman, Print Operations Manager
Adam Kocjancic, Production Scheduler and Shipping Manager
Jane Konieczko, Quality Supervisor
Stephanie Kunovich, Printed Electronics Team Lead
Alyse LaRocca, Customer Care Manager
As a requirement of training, these individuals were split into two teams, and had to create an improvement project for the company. The first team’s goal was to reduce shop rework and the second team aimed to decrease the lead time to the shop floor for incoming orders. Each team had to apply the five phases of Six Sigma methodology: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC), to ensure the best possible results. Both teams met or exceeded their goals and successfully completed their projects. The first team reduced rework by 30% and the second team decreased the lead time to the shop floor by 19%.
Thank you for taking the time to better yourselves and the company by learning and applying these new techniques for continuous improvements!
