Overlays, generally produced using our more durable flexible substrates of polycarbonate and polyester, are widely used on control panels to indicate functions for industrial or commercial control products. Irregular die-cuts, embossing, contouring and innovative artwork capabilities make overlays an attractive and economical choice for your graphic panel needs. Overlays are generally screen printed and digitally printed on the secondary surface to protect the graphic image from surface abuse.
Designing your overlay solution incorporates four components:
- Base stock – What will form the foundation of my graphic overlay?
- Adhesive – What type of surface will the graphic overlay need to adhere to? Will the overlay be permanent or removable?
- Liner – Will the graphic overlay need to lay flat after cutting?
- Laminate - What type of environment will the graphic overlay be used?
Answering these questions helps determine what material makes sense – and the options are virtually endless with Cubbison.
