Laser cutter gives Cubbison Company competitive advantage in commercial graphics production.
In responding to today’s "I need it yesterday and I need it to cost less" business environment, Cubbison Company is cutting up to three weeks from its commercial graphic label production cycle with its latest equipment acquisition – a Laser Machining Center (LMC) from Beam Dynamics. When creating a label, nameplate or graphic panel with rigid material, such as aluminum identification tags for appliances, the LMC eliminates the need for a stamping die – an extra time- and budget-straining expense required under previous production methods. Cubbison can complete complex cutting, drilling and engraving tasks on a wide range of materials and thicknesses with the LMC, using only a CAD-generated file.
"This equipment makes such a difference in cost and turnaround for our customers," said Chris Beil, Cubbison sales manager. “"Anytime we can eliminate a production step and maintain or improve product quality, it’s a worthwhile investment."
The LMC is designed with advanced motion control for significant precision – even at the highest cutting speeds. Digital laser power ensures consistent cut quality during acceleration, at all feed rates and power settings.
According to Beil, while the LMC&rwquo;s time-saving and cost-cutting features alone make the machine worthwhile, it’s performance during last-minute design changes make it indispensable.
"Previously, when a customer needed to change design specifications, we had to produce a new die, adding even more time and money to the process," said Beil. "Now, changes require only a programming adjustment."
He added, "This equipment makes a huge difference in our ability to compete – especially on smaller runs and complex specifications."
